Requires 2 AA batteries. Tested and works. I'll include a fresh pair of batteries with it. Comes with the original box, paper insert, cardboard holder, and bubble wrap.
The figure talks when you set it down or tap it on the head hard enough. I think the first word is Kagome shouting "Osuwari!" which is how she tells Inuyasha to sit in Japanese, followed by Inuyasha shouting "Kagome!" as he slams to the ground. If you'd like to hear a sample of the audio, you can search "Inuyasha Talking Figure Shonen Sunday" under videos on google and it should be the top result (the video isn’t mine).
This was originally given out to applicants through a promotional campaign ran by the Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday all the way back in 2002.
